Asphalt or Bitumen?

Updated: Jul 19

Asphalt is a mixture of rock, aggregates, binder, and filler. It is a popular choice for road construction because of its durability, strength, and resistance to wear and tear. Asphalt is also known for its ability to withstand extreme weather conditions and heavy traffic. It is commonly used in highways, airports, and other high-traffic areas.

On the other hand, bitumen is a byproduct of crude oil. It is a viscous, black, and sticky substance that is used as a binder in the construction of roads and pavements. Bitumen is known for its waterproofing properties and its ability to adhere well to different surfaces.

Together these products are binded together to actually create "Asphalt'.

Asphalt or bitumen is also an eco-friendly material as it can be recycled and reused. The recycling process involves crushing and reusing the old asphalt material to create new pavement. This reduces the amount of waste and conserves natural resources.
